Project description

In the ever-changing asset market, Money.net is charting a course to become the gold standard. Their platform is designed to unearth deep insights into the latest shifts in the financial sector, complemented by dynamic charts illustrating asset price fluctuations.

To ensure the platform remains top-tier and up-to-date, the Money.net team enlisted Vention’s expertise in conducting product discovery workshops.

The scope of work included assessing the existing solution, pointing out its benefits and drawbacks, and developing a future state solution architecture tailored to our client’s needs.

Performance audit

At the project's outset, it was evident the platform wasn't meeting the mark, especially against the client's ambitious vision: to scale up the system to handle 100 times more users at once.

Our engineering team examined the product's architecture and quickly identified the critical bottlenecks hindering the platform from reaching its full potential. Armed with these insights, Vention’s engineers set out to craft the most fitting resolution.

Code analysis

Since the legacy system was developed well before our client took ownership, most modules came without proper documentation. This led to a lack of information that would be helpful in developing improvements for the product.

To achieve a better understanding of the platform’s functionality, we also conducted a static code analysis. In addition to that, our team held numerous meetings and workshops with the software engineers from the Money.net side to get hands-on experience with the product’s intricate features.

Future state architecture

The culmination of this PDW project was developing the solution’s future state architecture.

First off, our software engineers compared the existing solution’s architecture against current technological advancements and best practices in the fintech domain. Next, we picked the most suitable technologies to upgrade legacy systems and address bottlenecks as necessary.

In parallel, we designed a product roadmap that dissects the entire upgrade process into 15 independent projects. Each project acts as an incremental step towards integrating the future state architecture into the system with minimal disruptions to ongoing operations.

The result

Our team has thoroughly analyzed the Money.net platform’s architecture and proposed essential upgrades to future-proof the product. The three main deliverables — current state assessment, future state architecture, and product roadmap — highlighted actionable improvement areas, all designed for seamless integration without impacting overall system functionality.

Implementing the proposed technologies enabled the platform to effortlessly accommodate a tenfold surge in simultaneous users.
